Details:
For the Pre-Ceremony coverage, my
assistant filmed the bride and
bridesmaids party while I filmed the
groom and groomsmen. The
pre-ceremony activities took place at
the Grand Bohemian Hotel in Orlando, FL.
I then headed over to the First
Presbyterian Church of Orlando and set
the main camera and prepared all the
microphones while my assistant followed
the bride to the church.
For the Ceremony, it came down to
just before the beginning of the
ceremony before
we confirmed that my assistant was going
to be allowed in the church (normally
FPCO only allows a single camera and it
can only be manned if the ceremony is in
the chapel, which this ceremony was).
The officiant said he was but he was not allowed to have a
tripod and had to hand hold the camera
throughout the ceremony, from the back
of the church. The primary camera
was positioned on the right side of the
church, about a third of the way back,
which is where we were instructed to
place the camera. The Officiant and
groom both wore wireless lapel
microphones and the use of a shotgun
microphone was used to pick up the
ambient sounds in the room. A
professional quality digital recorder
was used to capture the readings, at the
side podium. Following the
ceremony, my assistant stayed at the
church and captured some of the photo
session and other footage, as well as
followed the wedding party to the other
locations where the pictures were being
taken. I packed up the primary
camera, microphones, etc and drove to
the reception location, to start filming
there.
For the Reception, which was back at
the Grand Bohemian, we both captured
all the major moments of the reception
and each of us split up to get the
general footage. The reception
lighting was very dark, which was
challenging for the toasts and other
events that didn't take place on the
dance floor, but our cameras are the
best in their class in low light
performance so we were still able to
capture the moments.
